Finally! Tonight’s the night that we will find out if we have won the National Contractor of the Year (CotY) Award for a whole house remodel we completed last year.  In February we learned that NARI had awarded us the Northeast Regional CotY in the Residential Interior Over $150,000 category and we were thrilled, particularly since we absolutely LOVE this project and our client! We will be watching the awards show online tonight at 5:30 and you can too if  you’d like to join us by clicking on this link and registering. If you miss the show tonight, it will available for viewing online for the next 30 days.

Contractors from seven regions around the country vie for CotY Awards each year. Judging is based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty by an impartial panel of industry experts. Regional CotY Winners will now advance as finalists at the national level.

About Spring Creek Design’s Winning Project

final 5 View from Porch over towards Stairs and Kitchen Area

This whole house remodel was a very special project from its inception.  We started by working with our client to find a renovation-ready home in the country with plenty of outdoor space for her to share with her new rescue puppy.  Once we found it, we went to work designing the remodel with an open floor plan that featured the perfect mix of old and new  – city and country – to create the modern barn aesthetic the homeowner wanted.

Every very space we touched was carefully considered and meticulously crafted.  The eclectic mix of handmade features compliments the informal cottage style of the house. The first floor includes a new open-plan kitchen, mudroom and powder room. With its long sight lines, the first floor of this tiny home feels much larger than its 780 square feet.  The kitchen and mudroom cater to the way this homeowner lives.  Upstairs, new master bedroom, bathroom and closet spaces are beautiful focal points.
