Additions & Exteriors

Sometimes you simply outgrow the home you love. A thoughtful addition can make your home more efficient and increase its value. That’s true of exterior upgrades and landscaping, too. Give us a call to discuss the possibilities!

Dramatic Breakfast Room in Kennett Square, PA

This architect-designed home has a hexagonal floor plan with distinctive “flying gable” rooflines. The owners asked us to design a breakfast room that would enclose a portion of a wrap-around porch. We created a dramatic glass-walled addition that incorporates a custom steel and glass exterior stairway and a standing-seam Galvalume roof.

Backyard Living Room in Phoenixville, PA

These clients wanted to create more living and entertaining space with better flow to their backyard. We created a soaring, sloped-roof screened addition that functions as an outdoor living room, rain or shine. Then we added an expansive deck with an outdoor kitchen and serving bar. Lighted steps provide access to the yard.

Modern Exterior Makeover in Downingtown, PA

The cedar exterior of Tamara and Greg’s 90’s contemporary home had decayed, so they wanted a radical, modern makeover. We used fiber-cement panels and strong colors to accentuate the house’s bold lines, and created “floating” cement entry stairs. A new Azek deck at the back of the house features an arched pergola.

Barn Gets New Life in Collegeville, PA

Megan and Scott have three kids, several pigs, many chickens, and thousands of bees. After restoring their stone farmhouse, they turned to their old barn for new space to serve as a kind of family clubhouse. We renovated the barn, adding new siding, a metal roof, an enclosed garage, and a birding platform for Scott. The interior retrofit included new work and play spaces for this active family.

Stone, Wood, and Metal Harmonize in Malvern, PA

The owners of this gorgeous stone estate wanted a contemporary addition that complemented the home’s presence. We created a two-story stone addition with a kitchen nook below and a master suite with balcony above. A glass railing allows the balcony to “float” above the windowed bump-out below. A dramatic post-and-beam covered porch houses an outdoor kitchen.
