Kyra knows design like the back of her hand, and she is an expert at guiding our customers through the Design Selections for their remodeling project. As a Designer, she is primarily responsible for taking your ideas and bringing them to life using her professional skills. The end result is a design that aligns with the client’s desires, is feasible, and is within the budgetary restrictions for the project.

What is your background?
I attended Savannah College of Art and Design and Art Institute of Washington DC. Apprenticed 6 years as a Mason and Carpenter to learn the limitations and possibilities of Construction. During my 11 years as a construction PM and Designer in VA and PA, I also owned a media marketing company for 3 years. I have been the in-house Designer with Spring Creek since 2016.

What drew you to design?
I have been an artist and painter since I was a child. During my youth, I was exposed to the rich artistic trades surrounding the Southern Chester County Area which helped to push me into a creative field. I am obsessed with details, the inner workings, and the function of just about anything. I have a passion for constantly creating and making spaces more visually pleasing than how I found them.

How do you approach a new project?
First and foremost I focus on what our clients want and why they are interested in the project. Each project is not what I want, its how to make our clients dreams a reality.

What are your favorite designs or what would be your dream design?
I do not have just one favorite. Every space I have improved aesthetically and functionally is my favorite. I have a very gratifying occupation. I get to have a hand in changing people’s lives and have them fall in love with their homes all over again.

I love the idea of secret storage, secret rooms, and passages. I would like to incorporate a walnut slide into someone’s foyer from the second floor. I have also always wanted to create a part of a house like a wine room or a basement den with glass walls that is under a body of water like the ocean or a pool. There is something mesmerizing about how the sunlight dances through the water.

What do you think makes a good designer?
The ability to be thoughtful and listen to the client’s needs. Being open to breaking aesthetic boundaries while giving the client their dream space on the proposed budget. Thoughtful design is my focus.
