At SCD we set out to create a client-focused design+build process. Our goal was to create a collaborative working relationship where SCD acts as the client’s advocate throughout the design, build and warranty phases of a project. We think you will like what we created.

Our cloud-based system allows for easy communication throughout the life of your project. It is our clients’ window on the world of their project. Here they can keep up-to-date on costs, track changes, view the schedule, read daily logs, view or add site photos, choose selections, and send and receive messages; asking questions, getting answers, and providing feedback.

Your Initial Consultation
This is the beginning of the conversation and the relationship between you and the SCD team. We thoroughly discuss your needs and expectations, the scope of work and your budget, and review the process. This first meeting takes place in your home or at the property your are renovating, and we do a walkthrough of the space.
In this step the budget for the project is defined and the design criteria is reviewed and honed. The proposal is a detailed overview of your project, including budget. At this time the design+build agreement is signed. Let’s start designing!
This is where well thought out ideas are turned into great plans. It’s a deep dive into the details. We finalize architectural drawings, decide on selection choices – guided by our designer, and determine final construction costs.
High quality craftsmanship and materials are the hallmark of our process. We manage your construction so your project comes in on time and on budget. We keep the construction area clean and safe.
This part of the process kicks off with a construction meeting to go over schedules, work days, work site management – all of those tiny details that will impact your day to day living.
Your Project Completion
It is time to move in and enjoy your new space! Completing the process includes a thorough inspection and a goal of a zero line item punch list. You receive a binder detailing all the materials used in your project, use and care manuals, and links for more information.
SCD’s lifetime warranty begins with 2, 4 and 6 month check-ins to see how everything is working. We want to ensure that you are making the most out of the home you love.
