California Mission Style Patio

When the time came to replace their dilapidated deck, Dave and Lauren wanted something special. They had dreams of an expansive entertaining space, with an outdoor kitchen area and a real wood-burning fireplace. Wonderful memories of their trips to Sonoma County wine country inspired a California Mission Style design.

Exposed aggregate concrete with polished glass pebble accents was chosen for the patio surface. Bluestone-capped seating walls surround the patio. Cypress was chosen for the kitchen cabinets for its beauty and excellent rot resistance. Gooseneck wall and lamp-post lighting from Barn Light Electric creates a cafe ambiance.

The oversized wood burning fireplace holds a custom fabricated stainless steel grill for cooking over wood coals. Hand painted Mexican tile and river stone accents over the arched firebox complete the Spanish-Revival design.
